Vacation 2008 - Day Twelve - 450 Miles

First, I would like to thank the Williams family for all their hospitality. We had a wonderful time. We did so many great things and just had a great time!! Thanks for the fun!

Today, we drove from Parker, CO to Dalhart, TX today. We stopped by the Royal Gorge. That was a bust. They wanted $23/adult and $19/kid for us to get in to the "park". The park includes the viewing area, tram rides and visitor center. We just wanted to see the view and get some info from the visitor center. So we did not pay and headed down the road.

We stopped by Capulin Volcano National Monument. It is an almost perfect example of a cone volcano. We drove to the top of the cone. Derek and I walked down to the bottom of the crater. It was way cool. Lots of lava rock.

Tomorrow, we head home.
