Vacation 2007 - Day Seven - PA, NJ

We could not have asked for a better day. We drove from PA to NJ. We decided to go ahead and go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island today. We had a blast. Ellis Island is a beautiful building and the historical displays were amazing. Did you know that 12 MILLION immigrants passed through there between 1889 and 1924!

The Statue of Liberty was so impressive in person. A park ranger
saw us taking pictures and gave us passes to the observation deck. These normally have to be reserved months in advance. We got to climb 156 steps up to the observatory level and see inside the statue (see picture below). The ranger made our day.

Tomorrow we head into New York.
