Vacation 2007 - Day Eleven - NH, VT

Today we headed across Vermont. We passed the 2,500 mile mark. Our first stop was at "Rock of Ages" Granite quarry in Graniteville, VT. It is amazing how they blast out the rick. Next we stopped at Braff Maple Syrup Farm. They make 700 gallons of syrup each year. It takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon. They boil the sap from a 2% sugar solution to 70%. They also had some bunnies, goats and sheep for the kids to pet. Finally, we stopped at Ben and Jerrys ice cream factory. They make 300,000 pints per day. We got to sample the new Cinnamon Bun flavor. Yummy. Tomorrow we go all across NY to Niagara. No new state but a new country!.
