Another nice day. Clouds, cool and no rain. Over the Mississippi by lunch time. We find a visitor center for our new state visited picture/map. Great statue of Elvis.
Oh NO! Our planned visit to Mud Island was cancelled. Turns out its closed for the season. There website did not say that.... Bummer. Well we went back to visitor center for some entertainment ideas. After lunch we went to the "Pick Palace Museum" This is a historic site and a natural history museum. A special magic exhibit is on display. It was fun to see they tricks and how they leverage the mind to create illusions. Some with just human nature and/or science to create the illusion of mind reading or control. We really enjoyed the Natural History museum part. We actually found a Narwhal whale tooth. Abby did a report on an Artic animal. She was the only one to do the Narwhal. Oh by the way, their tooth is 10-15 foot long and looks like a unicorn horn. More info at: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/whales/species/Narwhal.shtml
After the museum, we went to the famous Peabody Hotel to see the ducks. The lobby was packed with visitors also wanting to see them. We got front row seats. Those ducks are smart. They kept running away from their handler. Took two to heard them to the red carpet and up the elevator.
Walked around Beale Street. Grabbed dinner. Drove by Graceland on the way back to the hotel.
